About
Compagnia Generale Trattori (CGT), is the official CATERPILLAR dealer for the entire Italian territory and is part of Tesya group, which groups 25 companies in 15 European countries, with 3500 employees and 120 total locations.
Two divisions operate in CGT: Earthmoving and Energy & Transportation.
Together with CGT Edilizia, we offer integrated sales, rental and service solutions in the Mining, Major Works, Infrastructure, and Construction sectors.
The Energy & Transportation Division is engaged in sales and technical service of CAT diesel and gas engines, used in different applications: prime and standby generator sets, cogeneration, marine propulsion e on-board power supplies, oil & gas, industrial power, and rail.
The challenge
CGT faced challenges aligning teams and contractors across its widely dispersed divisions. With more than 1000 employees spread across 26 branch offices in two divisions, CGT struggled to ensure alignment and timely updates for both internal teams and external contractors on product developments and complex machinery training before field deployment.
Ensuring consistent training across all locations is crucial. Inconsistent or incomplete training can lead to misalignment and varied results. Additionally, recognizing each office's unique needs is important. While initial training must provide a solid foundation for all employees, it should also be adaptable to meet the specific requirements of different offices.
In-person training is the most effective way to teach and collaborate on complex physical and digital technologies. CGT's training centers required a solution that integrated interactive screens, real-time annotations, and seamless access to back-end applications
Solutions
Mago offers an engaging, next-generation visual solution for streamlined training experiences.
After evaluating several potential options, CGT chose Mago as the best-suited solution. Its interactive screens, combined with the Mago Workspace App, offer advanced features such as interaction with 3D content and annotations on PDFs, applications, and multimedia files. Adopting Mago was incredibly fast. The Mago launcher on the 86” interactive screen and the Mago Workspace are user-friendly and intuitive, making the solution indispensable for both trainers and students. High-quality audio/visual systems and microphone system enable remote participants to interact with the trainer and people in attendance as if they were all in the same classroom.
Before Mago, presenting, annotating, and connecting with remote participants in real-time was a challenging and frustrating experience. Now, with Mago's wired and wireless presentation capabilities, visual collaboration, and online meetings featuring interactive screen annotations, everything feels seamless and intuitive for every teacher. Mago transforms hybrid meetings into engaging and inclusive experiences. In addition, we have thus abolished the use of paper s

Reduced Workshop Preparation Workload
Recognizing the potential to further enhance their productivity, the team began leveraging Mago to make their training workshops more interactive and optimize planning efficiency. Preparing for a workshop became as simple as consolidating all related materials into a single Mago Workspace. With relevant presentations, exercises, videos, and practical activities centralized in one place, trainers saved valuable time and effort, allowing them to focus on designing engaging content and delivering impactful training sessions. Mago Workspace goes beyond a traditional whiteboard; it allows trainers to prepare materials in advance. This cloud-based tool functions like an always-available, secure, online PowerPoint, hosting all digital materials organized into pages for training. Each page can include sketches, PDFs, Office files, AutoCAD files, 3D scans and objects, web pages, and multimedia files.
Secure and Easy Sharing of Assets
The launcher provides a secure environment for authorized applications, readily accessible at the teacher’s fingertips. By using a QR code to access corporate information, teachers can securely connect their cloud drives and applications during training sessions without the need for USB drives.
Empowering Student Participation
Students can interact with the workspace as guests during in-person or online sessions, supported by built-in videoconferencing or through platforms like Teams, Zoom, Webex, and over 15 other supported platforms. This functionality enables remote students to contribute to the same Mago workspace, allowing simultaneous collaboration within a single space. With minimal training required, students can easily contribute ideas, add comments, and participate in brainstorming sessions using Mago’s collaboration toolkit. At the end of a workshop, the trainer has a polished and visually appealing digital recap of the training session, ready to be proudly shared. Thanks to Mago, students receive an immediate digital summary of the workshops.
